La Maison du Lac

Charm, comfort and conviviality...

La Maison du Lac is a pretty village house, typically Berrichonne. Formerly a "Café-Epicerie", this cosy bar was transformed into a guinguette on Sunday afternoons to the delight of the people of the hamlet.

Later on, the house became a guesthouse.

We are very happy to welcome you to our home in Berry, the homeland of George Sand. Staying in a "chambre d'hôtes" is surely an authentic way to discover a magnificent region in all seasons.

Starting directly from the house, you will walk along the marked footpaths of the Creuse Valley, discovering landscapes as diverse as they are unsuspected.

Our house is for all those who are looking for calm, conviviality and relaxation in a natural setting. Our flowery and shady garden is a haven of peace. Our sunny swimming pool is a promise of idleness (access from May to September)

Feel at home, even elsewhere...

We are not a "gîte" (renting an independent flat without breakfast), or a "hotel" (with all the services of a hotel, room service, telephone, mini-bar). We will welcome you as friends in our personal home. Our concern is to make you participate in its gentle way of life.

The guests that you will be, for one night, two or sometimes more, will be offered the night, the breakfast, a dinner for two, according to the services that you will have chosen.

The "Café d'Antan", the "Table du Lac" or the arbour in our garden to enjoy our "home-made" cuisine

Your home-made breakfast will be served in the "Café d'Antan" room, decorated in the spirit of the owner's "Café-Epicerie".

You will be able to taste our traditional pastries and bread, our sweet mignardises and homemade jams, our squeezed orange juice, honey from the Crozant beekeeper and various savoury specialities from Berry.

Your table d'Hôtes will be set up in the "Café d'Antan" or in "La Table du Lac", according to our availability, or under the arbour of our pretty garden on a beautiful summer evening.
